SHERIFF DEPARTMENT PATROL DIVISION

THE PATROL DIVISION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ACTIVE COMMUNITY INVOLMENT TO PROVIDE LAW ENFORCMENT AND SECURITY FOR THE RURAL AREAS AND SMALL MUNCIPALITIES OF COMANCHE COUNTY. WE CURRENTLY HAVE TWO OTHER SUBSECTION OF K-9 TEAMS AND HONOR GUARD SECTIONS TO ASSIST WITH DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS.

CURRENTLY THERE ARE 15 SWORN PATROL DEPUTY’S, TO PROVIDE 24 HOUR 7 DAYS A WEEK COVERAGE. ASSIGNED ARE 1 PATROL ACTING COMMANDER, (LIEUTENANT GONZALES), 1 EVIDENCE CUSTODIAN (MAJOR TOSH), 2 SHIFT SUPERVISORS (SERGEANT), and 3 ASSISTANT SHIFT SUPERVISOR (CORPORALS), 8 PATROL DEPUTY’S TO COVER THE COUNTY.

 THERE IS ALSO A MAINTANCE SECTION MANNED BY A CAPABLE MECHANIC RICHARD HANLEY THAT KEEPS OUR FLEET OF VEHICLES SAFE AND RUNNING.

K-9 SECTION

TO PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL TOOL TO COMBAT THE COUNTINED DRUG PROBLEM, MAINTAIN A HIGH PROFICIENCY LEVEL WHICH CAN NOT BE COMPROMISED.

Comanche County Sheriff's Office K9s Yumi and Ban have received donation of body armor

 

Comanche County Sheriff's Office K9s Yumi and Ban have received bullet and stab protective vests thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Yumi's vest was embroidered with the sentiment "Born to Love-Trained to Serve-Loyal Always". K9 Ban's vest was embroidered with the sentiment "Honoring those who served and sacrificed".

 

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and NIJ certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 4,033 vests to K9s in all 50 states at a value of $6.9 million, made possible by both private and corporate donations.

 

The program is open to U.S. dogs that are at least 20 months old and actively employed and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9s with expired vests are also eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States.

 

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount, while a single donation of $960 will sponsor one vest. Each vest has a value of $1,744-$2,283, weighs an average of 4-5 lb., and comes with a five-year warranty. For more information, or to learn about volunteer opportunities, please call 508-824-6978. HONOR GUARD DETAIL

TO PROVIDE HONORS FOR THOSE THAT HAVE TIRELESSLY SERVED THIS COUNTRY, STATE AND COUNTY.

HONORS TO FALLEN BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN ARMS BOTH MILITARY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT AT COUNTY CEMETERIES AND FOR MEMORIAL DAY ACTIVITES AND FOURTH OF JULY CEREMONIES.
